About Us
The R5 Band is an upbeat rock and dance cover band based in the St. Louis metro area. Over the course of one of our shows, you could hear anything from Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, to Alice Cooper, to the Go Go’s. We’re eclectic, and that’s what makes us…well, US!
Where’d you get your name?
We started out as The Righteous 5 Band. Decided that was too long for a business card, and shortened it to just R5. But in our heart of hearts, we are still the Righteous 5.
We’ll answer to either name. So you really can’t go wrong 🙂
You all look familiar, where have we seen you before?
Although R5 has only been kickin’ it as a team since 2017, our members are not new to the STL music scene. R5 is the melting pot of seasoned players from other bands you’ve probably seen currently, or heard of over the years. Two of us were members of the popular metro area party band 5th House. One of us is currently the front man for Cheap Surrender (Cheap Trick cover band). And one of us a current member of acoustic cover band, Never 2 Late. We’ll let you figure out who is who!
